First thing that cane to my mind criticism-related was the bassline. It was too loud at the beginning, at least to me, but when the song started to pick up the problem fixed itself.

The song is also really repetitive, which can get annoying. No amount of added instruments will spice it up after 3 and a half minutes of the same melody. Mix things up or add a second melody to alternate to, or something.

I really want to like this song, but it's just the same thing for almost 6 minutes. The melody is cool, but it overstays its welcome.

Well, might as well start through this flood of music.

I don't understand that weird break at :37. It just seems out of place.

The melody is pretty short and is repeated CONSTANTLY. It got annoying by the 2:00 mark. Changing the instruments only works at freshening up the melody for so long.

The break at 3:08 fit much better, but it seemed like the music started back about a half-measure too early, but that's just my opinion.

The song is good, but it can get repetitive really fast, especially at the ending.

Thanks for the feedback. Man, I'm spamming this over and over with your reviews, aren't I? Talk about being repetitive.

Wait a second...

I've bever been too much into dubstep stuff, so I can't really review this fairly.

My only comment I can make on this song is that the "swag" voiceclip is repeated way too often, and it gets annoying (at least, to me) way too fast.

I think you should have previewed your least favorite. Your least favorite sends the message "it only gets better from here", while your personal favorite sends "this is as good as it gets".

Also, the "swag" voice-clip has a little bit of time before it actually says the word, and that de-syncs it from the music. If it can still be corrected, I'd recommend you fix that (unless that was your intention).

Um, that's all I can really comment on. Sorry.

Evilgrapez responds:

Thanks for the review. It was my personal favorite of the ones I made so far for the soundtrack. All the other ones weren't too good. As for the swag voice clip desync, I can't really fix that now, as I sent it in and it was accepted. However, in the game it will be using an instrumental version, and there will also be an instrumental version available along with the full soundtrack when the game's out, so you might prefer that.

I really like this song. It's like you went forward in time, read my reviews on your songs, went back, and fixed everything I complained about. This sounds a lot like an EnV song, and that's a good thing. The basslines are there and harmonize with the song, and it doesn't take long to get into the action of the song.

I noticed a certain vocal in the background from a previous song, and it was used much better than said previous song. Good work on that!

Honestly, the only criticism I have is that the ending is repetitive, but I don't think that's enough to even take off half of a star.

I hope you do make more songs like this, they sound really great.

Sir, do take my 5 stars. You've earned them.

Evilgrapez responds:

Thank you so much! I will be doing more songs like this! And glad you mentioned the vocal - I really liked it, so I thought I'd bring it back in a few songs, starting with this one.

When I first started songwriting, I was a huge fanboy of EnV, and always wanted to recapture his style. Glad I managed to do that! :D

Thanks for the review!

The mouse-ish (only way I can describe it, don't judge) 3-note string repeated at the beginning is REALLY grating.

Again with the 1-instrument stuff. I know that writer's block is a huge deal for musicians, but you still need to put some love, care and quality into it, you know? I can respect you for trying to write music in a writer's block, but this is just kind of... well... lazy. Sorry to rip on your music, but it's very low-quality compared to your other tracks.

-QJrocks (and yes, I do read those)

Evilgrapez responds:

Aw, I was hoping that you'd review my remix of Stalemate. D:

But thanks for the review anyways, even if it was a 2 star. :)

I really like the intro to this song. Having the melody fade in at the beginning was a really cool idea.

:42 Sudden speed ups are sudden. This kinda scared me.

I'm noticed a heavy focus on piano here. Not sure if that was the intention, but it still sounds pretty great.

~1:50 Yay, that effect again! Except it sounds so much cooler than before! How do you even do that?

You've got some pretty weird dubstep-ish instruments going on there, though I probably shouldn't judge, since I can't dubstep for the life of me.

2:55 HOW DO YOU KEEP REPEATING THE SAME EFFECT AND MAKE IT SOUND COOLER EVERY TIME? IT'S WITCHCRAFT, I TELL YOU! ...or maybe just the mark of a good artist. Take your pick.

-QJrocks

Evilgrapez responds:

I guess I like scaring people, sorry. To be honest, it kinda startled me when I saw EIGHT INTERACTIONS while starting up Newgrounds.

I don't know how I keep repeating the same effect and making it cooler, to be honest. But trust me: I noticed it while making this song.

Thanks for the review!

You really need to shorten your intros. It takes way too long to get into the song, and it could potentially drive off any newcomers, as hearing ~30 seconds of 1 instrument doesn't exactly draw the listener in.

The violin part at 2:30 seems out of place, and also has no bassline. You were doing fine the rest of the song, but this part just seems so out of place.

That's pretty much all the criticism I have for this song. You're getting a lot better with the basslines, keep it up!

-QJrocks

Evilgrapez responds:

Aw, thanks! The intro thing has been noted! I'll try to keep these intros shorter.

Thanks for the review!

The intro is nice, but I would have chosen a different instrument for it, myself.

The idea is nice, and I like the song's atmosphere, but it still feels... lackluster. I don't know why, it just seems "unrefined" in a way. Sorry that I can't help you here.

That's all I can really say about the song. Sorry about the short review.

Evilgrapez responds:

It's okay. Yeah, you're right. Listening to it again, it does sound kinda...lackluster or something. :P

Thanks for the review!

I have that very same problem with genres.

That intro made me feel like I was in a vacuum. Nice effects, but I don't really think it fits with the rest of the song.

:31 why use only one instrument for your main melody? It sounds much better at :42 when other instruments are added.

I really like how the instruments work with each other here. You did a good job on that.

Um... I really don't have much to say besides that. It was a nice, calming song though.

-QJrocks

Evilgrapez responds:

Thanks for the review! Glad to know I'm not the only guy who has the genre problem. :P

Alright, I'm going to try to work my way through this flood of music.

I like the song, but it takes forever to get going, almost 1 minute until any real main melody kicks in.

The instrument at 1:22 completely overpowers the other instrument and is slightly grating. You should have turned down the volume a bit. The instrument is used much better at 1:36.

I love that you used basslines (or at least it sounded like it). It wasn't noticeable, which isn't necessarily bad, and it made the song feel much more "whole" in a way.

2:41 Why. Just why. No please. Don't do this again with that instrument. It's just so loud and grating that- BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

-QJrocks

Evilgrapez responds:

Alright, I'm going to try to work my way through this flood of REVIEWS!! Hahaha...ha.
